What We Believe

Our Mission
St. Mark Lutheran Preschool and Bridge Program is a partnership of home and school to nurture and educate students in a Christ-centered environment through spiritual, academic, social and physical preparation for developing lives of Christian service.
Our Philosophy
St. Mark Lutheran Preschool and Bridge Program is sponsored by St. Mark Lutheran Church and it exists to provide a Christ-centered education for all children of Kentwood and the neighboring communities. Enabled by the Holy Spirit, teachers and staff introduce students to Jesus Christ through the teachings of the Holy Scriptures. Christian principles are subsequently taught throughout every subject area. St. Mark encourages confidence in each student to live life as a Christian witness and servant.
At St. Mark, we believe that children are precious individuals from God. Through positive feedback from teachers and staff, they learn that as a child of God, they are important, special and unconditionally loved. We encourage interaction, independence and creativity of all children by allowing them to explore, experiment, and ask questions of things in their environment. Self-confidence and self-esteem are nurtured as children are guided and as they learn to make appropriate choices in all situations.
We also believe that the relationship between family and school is important. It must be based upon trust, dependability and honesty. As parents provide the very best for their children at home, we in turn will provide the most positive and enjoyable experience possible at school. Families and school working together, fostering open communication and mutual understanding, provide the best education for a child.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
